Mosses and Lichens in Gardens

The Bryolich project "Mosses and Lichens in Gardens" was officially launched at the 2019 Bryolich Annual Meeting andcompleted in 2024. As part of the project, bryophyte and/ or lichen species were recorded in 28 gardens and information on environmental fac- tors was collected in order to make data-based recommendations for bryophyte- and lichen-friendly gardens. A total of 138 bryophyte and 164 lichen species were recor- ded, including vulnerable and near threatened species. Most important for a high species richness in a garden is to have a high number of different habitats.
